Hello,

since my Zyxel is in combination with the version 4.4.4i (almost) everything works fine:

VIDEO:
No more "grey" videos, which can not be selected or is not playable. Almost all my Vids (Divx, XviD, Avi's MP4, MPEG and WMA) will be played. So nothing with difficult converting

PHOTO:

Fantastic ; Thumbnails of my (4-8 MPx) Photos are displayed and in an acceptable speed (for the page with 9 mini-pictures about 4 Sec. - this is my priority!) Aspect ratio is correct, slide show with background music .. . everything is perfect.

MUSIC:

No change; also all fantastic.

Only 2 things:

-- How can my CD cover or folder.jpg displayed reliably !? This does not always work. I have observed when albumart ... jpg is in the directory, it works -mostly . Tips?!

-- How the hell can I get the screen saver off?

I have the same combination as you and love it.

The problem I have that you don't mention is the artist appears as "Unknown" for music.

Do you have the same or do you know of a fix ?

yes; I've the same problems with the missing ("unknown") Artist - although the information is in the mp3-tag...

Do you solved the Problems with missing cd cover!? I don't understand it! Do you have FW v."Si103" AEB0C!? You could find that info under "Device Information":

What I forgot:
Last but not least there is also the major failure and issue that the default "Video", "Picture" and "Music" keys on the RC don't work; you have to choose actually first "Server" - key and browse and search for the "Twonky" "Video", "Picture" and "Music" options....annoying ....!

i placed all AlbumArts inside the files with MediaMonkey that works fine. But I still habe the "No" AlbumArtist problem.

your Problem with the Albumcover:

The first letter from the filename 'folder.jpg' must be an uppercase letter, i.e. "Folder.jpg", then it works always! (the resolution of this jpg may have max 240 x 240 px)

On security after renaming the filename build new the Twonky Databases.

Hi,

The firmware I'm using is Si103(AEC.0)b5

If I try an update I'm told " Software update is available ". I hit Start and " System is updating software " message appears but immediately goes to " Connection has been terminated ".

Anyone got any idea whether it's because it's already the latest firmware version ?

I do the same as sbuschm but will give dunklelords method a go, thanks for the tip.

Does anyone have any useful links for the DMA1000 , i.e forums etc. It doesn't appear to be very well discussed in the UK.

Hi doggydoo,

you have already the latest firmware (SI103). Thats a bug from the zyxel, if you try to update the zyxel over the internet.

The MediaMonkey was a great tip; the software does this job so nice and well!!! I was looking so long for a software which collect and download automatically CD cover!!

And the best: Mediamonkey could store the Albumcover in any name you define:
I choose "Save Image to folder" and under "Tools" ->"Options" -> "Library->Tags&-laylist->"AlbumArt" there is a field "Image Filename" : here you can define the name (Folder.jpg) and the uppercase letter "F" will be consider!! That's really great!!

Did you find a solution for using the media buttons on the Zyxel?

I am running 4.4.6 and it recongnises the dma-1000, the music button works very well even displaying the album art, but the photo and video buttons are very very very slow, but if I navigate via the server option instead, response is fast.

Was wondering if the photo side was slow, due to the not setting up any photo albums? Can anyone give me advice how I go this?

Came across this old thread and was hoping someone had a solution to the missing artist info?

This one's really knocking me for a loop.

No, try really all (4.4.6, 4.4.9, 5 beta) and on my MSS II and still on my new NAS Synology DS 107+ the same msising artist info

With Genre not particularly valid and Artist showing UNKNOWN for all files, using this is just about out of the question.

Forget it...since the change to 5.x and new direction I guess they are even not interessting in further NAS support. Seems, they only supporting new customer who (already?) payed and bought WIN32 version...

Just FYI:
This problem is solved with Twonky 5.
Title, Artist and Album are now displayed correctly.
No more "Unknown" entries.
