The brandnew (2009/09) Zyxel DMA-2500
- Supports nearly all current video- and audioformat: MKV, AVI, WMV, ISO, IFO, MP4, VOB, ASF, M2TS, MOV, TP, TS, MPG, DivX
- Streams 1080p HD-Videos
- DLNA 1.5 Certified
- A/V Output : HDMI 1.1,CVBS, S-Video/Component, S/PDIF(Coaxial)
- One 10/100 Mbps LAN Port (yes - no Gbit )
- One USB 2.0 interface
It isn't really an new device; it is identical in construction with the Conceptronic "CFULLHDMAi"
But till now it isn't a DRM (uPNP/DLNA control point) an couldn't act as this like his kid brother DMA-1000 (no work with Twonky Media Manager and Twonky Beam, i tested this ) - but Zyxel support told me, this will be fix with the next FW in Q4/2009.
Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device
NAS: Synology DS211j 4TB with Twonky 6.0.31 "Kirkwood"- Clients: Philips Streamium NP2500, Sagem "My Dual 700", WD TV Live Gen.2 + Gen.3, - TV:Philips 42PFL8654
Re: Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device
I have the DMA-2500 too but the Twonky server is not working properly with it. Not all video and container types which the DMA-2500 supports are made available and buttons for language and subtitle selection do not work either.
Furthermore DVDs consisting of several VOB files are not played as a single movie (it stops after the first file) and DVD menu structures are not supported by Twonky
Are there any plans to get better/full support of the DMA-2500?
Right now I need to use the supplied server software of Zyxel, but I rather prefer Twonky.

Re: Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device
The Zyxel DMA 2500 should work with both TwonkyMedia manager and TwonkyBeam after the fireware update which should be out any day now.
We have a DMA 2500 in San Diego for testing.
We do not plan to fix the issue with seperate VOB files, but there are several DVD rippers that will create a single video file that can be played by any DLNA-compatible device. I use AOA DVD ripper, but there are others that work well also.

Re: Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device
Any news on this new feature at TwonkyMedia (DRM) ? Waiting desesperatly. Just bought 2 licences of TwonkyMedia but cannot send my Music on my hifi (where my DMA 2500 is connected). The user interface of the DMA-2500 is not very user friendly for normal human being in my opinion.
Thanks,
Didier.

Re: Zyxel DMA-2500 - another new DLNA/UPnP device
Thanks a lot Mike. I think I wait a bit more since there is still activity at Zyxel. I understand that they rather wait to have support for MP3. That's probably 80% of music libraries (that's at least my case!).
Thanks again,
Didier.
