Installing for use with Samsung Blu-ray player?

Post by missnita » Thu May 05, 2011 10:34 am

I have installed the trial of TwonkyBeam to see if I'd like to purchase.

I'm on a Macbook Pro [circa 2008] & have a new Samsung blu-ray player [BD5700]
which is DLNA certified. I've connected the player to my network & I'm currently using another program to view my downloaded content via a shared file, so I know my Mac & blu-ray player can communicate.

However, after installing TwonkyBeam no devices are detected...my mac is not even showing up.

Any help would be appreciated.

TwonkyBeam can only push media to devices that are externally controllable DLNA-certified DMRs. You can find a list of those here: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 960#p21264

If you install TwonkyServer on your Mac, you should be able to use your Samsung remote to browse and play media on your Samsung Blu-ray.

If you bookmark media with TwonkyBeam, you may be able to play it if from the Playlist menu if your Blu-ray can play those formats.
