Unknown artist in XBMC

Hi,

I have just installed twonky on my NAS.
When I use XBMC on my old Xbox, I get unknown artist at all files.
They are all listed nicely per album and artist, but when playing, or when looking at the song the artist is unknown.
I have already tried rebuilding the database, to no effect.
Anyone had this problem before?

I get a similar problem.

SOME of my tracks (about 80%) seem to have their tags read absolutely fine. Some others, however, appear as Unknown Genre, or Unknown Artists or Album titles.

SO, thinking It'd be smart. I spent a few days retagging everything using EasyTag 2.1.4 for Linux. I made sure all my MP3s were using the new ID3v2.4 tags as well as the legacy ID3v1 tags - assuming that'd help. I checked all my tagging in Rythmbox and Songbird to make sure it was all ok, and it seems that way. Its only Twonky (Or my Xbox 360) thats not picking up the tags properly. Rescanning and rebuildig the database does nothing either!

Any ideas what version tags Twonky reads? Or any idea what might cause this problem?

Cheers in advance!

I found out the problem. You need to make sure your Mp3s are tagged with ID3V2.3 tags, NOT V2.4.

If you use Debian or Ubuntu, I suggest installing EasyTag via a simple "sudo apt-get install easytag".

Then set your tag pref's to ID3V2.3.

That should fix your problem!
