Connect XBOX360 to Freecom NAS with Twonky

Post by deancrowe » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:19 pm

I wish to connect my xbox360 to retrieve media from my Freecom NAS Pro 500Gb with Twonky 4.4.2 installed.

My NAS is sharing the files and I can open them from a PC running Media Player 11. Twonky detects the XBOX360 as a client but the XBOX360 wants me to enter the xxxx-xxxx code as if it were connecting to a PC not the NAS box. How do I overcome this problem and allow the XBOX to stream directly from the NAS box with Twonky installed?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers
Dean

Probably you are using xbox "Media Center Extender" feature, but that works only with XP MCE or Vista Ultimate. To access video on your Nas, go to Multimedia and then VIDEO on the xbox menu (if I correctly remember menu names). At first probably you'll see only videos on internal storage (if any); push blue button (X I think) to show the list of accessible video sources. If there isn't your NAS, problably you have some network problems.
