External HD for Media Server
I am looking to get an external hard drive to connect to my PC for media streaming through my Xbox 360. I am just wondering if this will work. I think it will work, in theory, I would just setup the folders on the external HD to be part of the server and go from there right? I'm kinda new to all of this and just want to make sure it would work before I go out and buy the hard drive.

Re: External HD for Media Server
yes - this will work. I have a simulair setup like this.
My setup
Linux data server with all my video's and twonky installed ---------router/wifi -------- x360
(also connected 3x 400gigs WD usb hdds) :
:
laptops shared on the server (for photo's)
twonky will now share the data on the media blade's of your x360
"note - see my other topic" i switched back to connecting my mp3 collection, on a external usb hdd connected
directly to the x360. Since twonky or the xbox cant handle huge music collections trhough upnp - its way to slow (to build up the collections)
