Xbox 360 update for November 2008

Post by jrusse39 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 1:59 am

Has anyone determined what impact the mandated fall update will have on UPnP functions with XBox 360? It looks like there will be significant changes to the User Interface to support the new "Xbox Experience." Is this as far as Microsoft will go? If not, what is Packet Video's plan to update its software for use with the updated Xbox software?

Isn't it Microsoft's responsibility not to break anything? I'm pretty sure currently the Xbox360 has many major non-compliances to DLNA spec (it's not certified, unlike the PS3), so it's clear they don't take it's media capabilities that seriously (if they did perhaps the console would be quieter...)

So far, I have been unable to connect since the update. The XBox 360 sees my computer, but reports an error when I tried to correct. Prior to the update, it worked pretty well, although it was never as reliable as my PS3
