Hi!
I'm using TwonkyMedia server on QNAP 219P and I tried to stream MKV files but for some reason they dont appear on my XBOX360?? With AVI's there is no problem... I thought TwonkyMedia server would be able to stream MKV files via XBOX??
Please answer and put me out of my mysery
XBOX doesn't find MKV files?!
Re: XBOX doesn't find MKV files?!
Hey I don't know about the QNAP, but I know on my Thecus NAS the 360 won't play Matroska files. I don't think this is a problem with the NAS or with TwonkyMedia Server itself; I think it is simply because the 360 lacks the proper codecs to play Matroska files.
You say that you can't see the MKV files at all, though? I can see them in a list, I just can't play them.
Edit: This is also true for many other files types (and some different encodes in the AVI container). The 360 has a very limited range of supported codecs.

The 360 dosn't support MKV via DLNA clients in order to view them you need the latest Divx codecs and use Media center extender sorry!
