Emprex BTC NSD-100 & Xbox 360

Hi there,

I've recently bought a Emprex BTC NSD-100 as a "very" cheap NAS solution.

As it supported UPnP I thought it'd be ideal to connect to an external hard drive and store all my videos on it and be able to access them from my Netbook, Mac & Xbox 360.

I've accessed the NSD-100 and have started uPNP AV streaming through it's web interface. My Windows 7 netbook can see the Twonky Media Server as a "Media Device" however I can't get my Xbox 360 to "find it" at all.

I can access my netbook from my Xbox so the network appears fine.

Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers.

Also trying to get one of these to work

Try accessing the emprex ip address on port 9000 which will get you to the twonkymedia admin page. You can then give the server a short name like mediasvr, my xbox seems to find it then

I can now play music from the nsd-100 but the xbox doesn't see any videos even though I have a load of downloaded movies in avi format which play fine via USB stick straight into the xbox.

Gonna keep trying...

Still no joy, accessed the TwonkyMedia Configuration page, changed the Server name to "mediasvr", still cannot see it in the "Select Source" in "Test PC Connection" on my Xbox.

Still appears on my WIndows 7 netbook under Media Devices.

Lemsip; did you alter any of the NSD-100 or your routers settings other than enabling Media Streaming, have you managed to get any videos streaming?

Any thought's anyone?
