Hi All,

Has anyone else updated their PS3 to 3.73 and found all the video files that are served by TWONKY are now stalling and audio breaking up ?. Any of my avi files I choose from the PS3 menu served from twonky stop playing for a few seconds then resume only to stop again a minute or so later. Is an update to twonky server required, or am I now stuffed because Sony updated its firmware ? Any help appreciated

Thanks for reporting this. I've asked our engineers to look into this. I'll post any response I get from them here.

Here is the response I got from them:

We could not reproduce this problem. Here are the results of our tests:

The following formats played without problems on our Sony PS3
- DivX MP3.AVI
- DivX AC3.AVI
- XviD MP3.AVI
- XviD AC3.AVI

The following formats were visible but would not play because they are unsupported on the Sony PS3
- AVC1 MP3.AVI
- AVC1 AC3.AVI
- H264 MP3.AVI
- H264 AC3.AVI

Those formats marked as “unsupported” have already been unsupported before updating the firmware of PS3.

Hi all,

I just experienced something similar. One night the PS3 could find my Twonky but was unable to list any content. I had just updated the PS3 to 3.73. I have tried rebuilding the database, restarting my QNAP-412, my PS3 and my Netgear WNR2000. Under “Video”, my PS3 says “no files” (in swedish) and under “Music” it only says “unsupported data”. Im not sure what to do next. Browsing the QNAp from my laptop works fine.

Is your PS3 connected via wired or wireless?

I have also had issues following the recent update though mine are a little more extreme. When the server has been running for a few hours my PS3 will disconnect from the network anywhere between a few minutes and half an hour later. This continues despite a PS3 reboot and won't stop until Twonky has been stopped on the server. Was fine until the recent PS3 Firmware update.

Possibly connected to PnP?

This sounds to me like a PS3 hardware issue, but i'll report it to our engineers just in case I'm wrong.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem, but with a MyBook Live.
Since 3.73 PS3 update, I have “unsupported data” under Music/Twonky * and "no files" under Video/Twonky (except in french).
Streaming worked fine before that.

Here are my specs :
MyBook Live (MyBookLive 02.10.09-124 : Core F/W, twonky media server 5.1.9)
Netgear switch GS105
Pair of PLC from ISP
Integrated switch on the ISP box
PS3 lite (4.00, Ethernet wired)

I've tried all I could think of to make it work (add shared directory, ...), with no luck.
I'm open to all suggestions/experiments.

Thanks in advance.

* Edit for clarity : There's no file under Music/Twonky. It's when "clicking" on the Twonky server icon that the PS3 says "unsupported data". It doesn't even let me browse my files.
