We might have expected to get some info on Destiny 2 Season of Opulence yesterday, but everything we heard from developer Bungie is oddly oblique. All we got was a big update on changes to the Eververse store and some roundabout info on how power level and other housekeeping issues would be handled with the upcoming season, but we still don't really know anything about what it will actually entail. Destiny 2 Boost has been going strong since its release in 2017 and, while laying out the updates featured in version 2.2.2, Bungie is beginning to paint a picture of what players will be experiencing during the summer. Before that, though, players much sharpen their skills for the final opportunity to participate in Iron Banner during the Season of the Drifter and earn the Iron Burden triumph.

The Solstice of Heroes event has arrived in Destiny 2. Until Aug. 28, players will be able play through Solstice of Heroes and earn themselves some exclusive power-level 400 armor. Participating in Solstice of Heroes is actually the only way to earn 400 armor before Destiny 2 Forsaken is released on Sept. 4. But players will have to work hard to earn that power. The season of the Drifter was always pretty straightforward the Drifter was a known quantity attached to a specific game mode, and so there was never any reality in which the thing wasn't going to revolve around Gambit. Same goes for Black Armory, though to a lesser degree, it was clearly going to be about weapon collecting, given the whole armory thing. Opulence, however? It's a bit of a mystery. Will we get a new game mode where our Guardians sprawl out on chaise lounges, Fallen wretches dangling grapes into our mouths?

Players who have updated to Destiny 2 version 2.2.2 will likely be making a beeline for the Buy Destiny 2 Boost, a new secret dungeon quest that will net Guardians the Outbreak Prime exotic pulse rifle. The rifle was vaulted previously but makes its valiant return as a reward for the game’s dedicated community. It’s going to take some hard work and coordination to attain, though, because there is a timer that will be ticking down on each attempt. Thanks to some datamining, we have a great idea of what players will need to do to upgrade their armor over the next month. This guide will teach you how to prepare for Forsaken in style, and reach 405 before the event ends. There are a few unique objectives to Solstice of Heroes. Before we talk about what you need to do to complete your armor set, here’s a quick explanation of elemental orbs and Redux missions.
