Connection resets between twonky and ps3

Post by ryoku » Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:06 pm

Hello all,

you are my last line of defense...
i have following problem:
I have installed twonky 4.4.4 on a asus wl500gp and it works fine now. bought a license and populating the attached ext3 hdd 500 gb with some files.
Now the connection to the ps3 is up and ps3 is recognizing the mediaserver, but when playing a file, after a short period of time it says "The connection between the ps3 system and the media server was reseted".
But twonky is there again immediatley and I can't see any restart of twonky in the logs.

Please can anyone help me??????

here are some issues I recognized out of the log files:

Hi,

I have the same problem.

Vista Ultimate 32 Bit, Twonky 4.4.4 and PS3. The PS3 can connect but after a few seconds the connection breaks up.

XP Pro SP2, Twonky 4.4.4 and PS3 -> No Problem at all.

I Think that there is a Bug or so in Twonky.

Same problem, not only the two of us.

Different Hardware used. Think Vista is in this case not the Problem, cause the server is seen by the PS3. So Fireawall settings and things like this are ok.

And the Final thing, I have tryed different PS3's.

I have one with the latest FirmWare and one with a older Version and the Problem exists, no matter witch one I use.

Are you keeping your folders within the < 300 file limit?

I had problems with Twonky until I broke my music repository up into subdirectories for each artist's first name (a,b,c...z)

After doing that, I went to maintenance, cleared my logfile and rebuilt my database. Streaming music from a samba mounted drive off a Western Digital Worldbook to the PS3.

Going to use the thirty days to make sure all is well - but so far so good.

If the WiFi and Ethernet are both enabled and configured for the same network - the PS3 switches between the 'TWO' servers it sees there forth and back.

Please either disable one interface - or set the IP address of the interface you want to use in the web configuration/network page of the server.

Also, After making changes to configuration page, do click on Rebuild database under Maintenance.

Good Luck
