Re: Connecting PS3 to QNAP TS 209 PLEASE HELP
What version is your PS3? If it 2.41 then Sony have changed the Identify string so products such as twonky don't recognise it as a PS3 any more and show it as a generic DNLA client.
If you click on the "client security" link on the twonky admin page do you see a device which has the IP address of the PS3?
If so try chaning the device type from Generic DNLA to PS3, restart the Twonky server and try again.
if you search on this forum (or google) for PS3 2.41 and streaming you will get an idea of how common this is.
Of course if your PS3 firmware is pre 2.41 this information doesn't apply and I would wait for someone more knowledgable than myself to assist!

On the QNAP, it _IS_ possible to edit the clients.db file... You just have to be a bit of a Unix guy to do it.
ssh to the QNAP (as admin)
cd /mnt/HDA_ROOT/twonkymedia/resources
cp clients.db clients.db.bak
vi clients.db
(make the edits, then <esc><:>wq<Enter>)
/etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh stop
/etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh start
/etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh reload

Re: Connecting PS3 to QNAP TS 209 PLEASE HELP
Is there any wireless connectivity between the PS3 and the QNAP?
When you look at client security you said that you can not see the PS3 but can you see any devices and if so can you account for them all?
It almosts sounds like the PS3 is sending out a broadcast in an attempt to find DNLA servers but the QNAP isn't "hearing" it.
