Metadata from filename

Post by rmcdouga » Mon Sep 01, 2008 11:35 pm

I have a large collection of WAV files some with metadata but most without. For files with metadata, Twonkyvision shows the tracks in alphabetical order rather than track order (it's possible that there's no track number in the metadata). I'd prefer track order.

My WAV files are all organized in a specific directory structure of artist/album/track.wav where the filename is "track # - track name" (e.g. The Beatles/Revolver/01 - Taxman.wav).

1) Is there some way to force the MediaServer to ignore the metadata in the .WAV files?
2) Is there some way to get MediaServer to get the metadata from the directory structure/filename?
3) If the answer to 2 is yes, then can one customize the way the metadata is retrieved to match a different scheme than the default?

Thanks,
Rob
