Hello,
I have a 100Mbit wired LAN with my PS3 and TS109 NAS. Both of them have the latest firmware updates.
My typical videos for streaming are VOB files around 4/5 Gb.
Some time ago I started to have problems in the streaming of these files, the movie starts smooth but then it starts to jump every 10 or 15 seconds.
Trying to dismiss the problem I have connected the PS3 directly to the PS3 and the result is the same.
Can anyone help me in the resolution of this problem?
Is there anyone with this problem or a similar one?
Kind regards,
António Mata

Re: PS3 streaming problems
Hello,
I have the same problem.
I downloaded some Blue Rays, coverted them to VOB file of +- 8 GB.
When placed on my Qnap TS 209 II and I want to stream them to my PS3, after 10 sec, it starts shocking.
note, when I stream from my PC with Tversity, I have the same problem.
is it a PS3 problem? ( since I have the problem when I stream from my Qnap or Pc with Tversity)
does somebody has an solution for this aanoying problem?
Thx in advance

Re: PS3 streaming problems
I've narrowed down a PS3 streaming problem pretty narrowly:
Server: Old iMac (PPC, OSX Tiger)
Client: PS3 (80 GB, latest update)
Twonky Version: 4.4.9
Network: WiFi G
Even though my server is underpowered, WMV files stream beautifully. AVC (mp4, m4v, h.264) streams terribly. It's very consistent. For example, I downloaded the same 45 minute video from Revision3.tv in both formats. WMV streams like butter (==great for those not familiar with that expression). The AVC version skips and starts and is unwatchable. When I copy the AVC to PS3 hard drive, all is well.
PS3 streaming for AVC has some problem relative to WMV. All other variables have been accounted for. QED. Please help. For philosophical reasons, I want to use AVC whenever possible and leave WMV in the cold.
