PS3 Not Detected in Clients/Security

I'm running PS3 with the latest firmware, twonkyvision with 4.4.5, and an unslung NSLU2.

When I turn on my ps3 I see the twonky as a media server, i can explore it's folders and it displays contents properly but all the media comes up as "unsupported format".
I had this problem with an earlier installation (that I had to scrap due to harddrive failure) and I knew that going to clients/security and switching the media receiver to PS3 fixed the problem.

Now when i go to that area the PS3 does not appear. I see my Xbox360 and my PC but there's no PS3, even though it clearly does communicate properly as I can navigate menus.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a router/firewall issue.

Make sure you have the latest PS3 firmware, the latest router firmare, uninstall Twonky, delete settings, reinstall, let it rebuild DB and redetect devices.

are there specific ports that should be opened for twonky to function properly?

and finally is 4.4.5 the latest version for an NSLU2?

4.4.9 is the latest, but I don't know about NAS devices, it's upto the individual manufacturer of the firmware to bundle/update it.

k, i just reformatted/re-installed and it's working now.

is there an easier way to uninstall than this?
a normal re-install did not do the trick.

Sorry, don't know, I don't have a NSLU2.
