Database rebuild required to watch newly downloaded content

I have my Twonky server set to -1 to watch for new content as it arrives.
Whenver i browse to the folders where the files are, they show up but are always listed as 'Unsupported Data'
If I rebuild the database and then redo the client list, it all works ok.. until more new media arrives
Any ideas?
