80711008 error on PS3

I have recently bought a PS3 - I also have an XBOX360. My Twonky version is 4.4.4.

Twonky serves up media to the xbox without any problems whatsoever, but I have been getting some odd errors on the PS3. Mainly I get the error 80711008. Also, and i don't know if this is a quirk of the PS3 but if i select all music and random play it only randomizes the first couple of letters (i.e. it'll randomly play all A and B titled songs, but nothing else). These errors have eventually caused the TownkyServer to crash (I presume - at the very least, it stopped. It's never done that on the xbox).

Both the PS3 and xbox are wired directly to the router (Netgear DG834G) which itself is also wired directly to the NAS that the twonky is running from.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction to solve this, i would be very grateful!

You really need a newer server version. Sony changed the DLNA identification string in the PS3 firmware a while back, and only newer server versions understand it.

If you can get 4.4.18 on your server, that should solve all your probs.

Thanks for your help.

I updates the clients.db files as per the post you pointed me too. However, it doesn't appear to have made any difference whatsoever. The PS3 is being displayed in the clients table correctly, but I'm still getting that error on the PS3. I turned logging on on the twonky server and found the following error:

19:54:38:094 [Error] - LOG_HTTP:HTTP_get_header Cannot receive header, clientSocket=19, nBytesReceived=0
19:54:38:095 LOG_HTTP:HTTP_send_receive received no header in HTTP_send_receive, propably client closed socket, URL=http://192.168.0.4:9000/

Is anyone able to shed any light on this?

Cheers :)
