Whole file not showing up on PS3

Hi there, I've recently bought a WD My Book Network Hard Drive, and I've set up TonkyMedia Server etc which my ps3 picks up as expected. However, when I copy large file size videos that are (for example 5gb) only the 1st 1minute is playable via the ps3 and it shows that the file is only 83mb but when I view the file on my mac, the 5gb file shows up as 5gb.
Has anyone else had any problems?

Hi, i have the same problem but im using an icybox with twonky installed.
Ive found out that if i reboot my icybox and rescan the files it shows the full size and plays the movie fine.
I would like to find a better way though as its a pain in the ass.

This is the exact same issue I have, if you rebuild the database the files on the drive will play but you need to do this every time to transfer a file.

As far as I know, the PS3 only supports playing of files larger than 4GB when streamed via DLNA. You cannot copy a file >4GB locally to the PS3 and view it.

Has anyone come up with a solution which doesn't require a rebuild each time a new file is added?

what do you mean when you say rebuild the database? I am having a similar issue
