Twonky 4.4 is remapping URL from the DNS to the private IP

Post by DRichards » Fri Jul 20, 2007 3:31 am

My server has a static private IP my router has a static public IP so I am using NATing . The router forwards to the private IP without a problem.

I use a DNS to access twonky both inside and outside the network. The problem is twonky is remaping the URL to use the private IP rather than the calling DNS which is breaking webbrowse.

Is there a fix?

I have sent an email to Support but no answer.

When I go to http://my.domain.com:9100/webbrowse the site opens fine.

It show the normal Music, Pictures, and Video menu items.

These menu links however are pointing to http://my.domain.com:9000/webbrowse/O#

If I click the Music link going to http://my.domain.com:9000/webbrowse/O1 the page opens fine and it lists the Album, All Tracks, ... butthese links are now http://10.1.1.5:9000/webbrowse/O1$#### (Album = http://10.1.1.5:9000/webbrowse/O1$14) and it is again broken.

Hi,

I had the same problem, and the instructions in the readme did not work for me, as the remote settings were ignored.

In the end, I got it to work by the following method (assuming dynamic DNS is set-up and working on your broadband if you don't have a static IP, and port redirection is setup for 9100 to point to port 9100 on your twonky server)

Before installing Twonky, on your PC in the Twonky Install directory, open the 'twonkymedia-default.ini' file in a text editor and add/edit the following lines

httpremoteport=9100
dyndns=http://<dyndnsHostname>:9100
enableweb=2

Now install Twonky and set-up as normal.

MAKE SURE YOU SET AN ADMIN PASSWORD!!!

You should now be able to login and use twonky from anywhere with

http://<dyndnsHostname>:9100/webbrowse

Hope this helps,

Alistair
