Database Vanishing..

Post by decker12 » Sun Dec 30, 2007 7:05 pm

Hi guys, really liking TwonkyVision and am thinking about buying it, except for this problem:

Twice now, the TwonkyVision database has just cleared itself out. Yesterday, I had playlists, 5000+ music files, video files, etc. This morning, I connect to it using my X360 and it's empty. I log into the web interface and all the Content is back to having 0 entries. Looks like all the other TV settings have returned to default as well, such as the Menu structures and radio stations - it looks like a fresh install, but it can't be truly fresh because it still knows I only have 10 days left in my trial.

If I add my content back the TV server and re-do my settings, I'm good for another week or so.

This is the 2nd time it has happened. The last time was a couple of weeks ago, and the same situation: worked fine one day, next day it was empty and back to defaults (my computer was shut down between the times).

I have 10 days left in my trial copy of 4.4.2. Running it on my Windows XP system, all content is stored on local hard drives.

Any thoughts or assistance on this issue?

Just happened again, with 4 days left on my trial. 0 files being shared, all settings reverted to default including the radio stations.

I love the Media Server, but I can't purchase the product if I have to continually and manually recreate the shares and the database every few days.

Any help?

I suggest you email twonky support. Try and identify something that happened around the same time as the DB got cleared. Anything in the XP Event log? Perhaps some system cleaner is doing something dodgy??
