Hello,
I have a large collection of photos all indexed with Phoshop Element 6.
I ahve a PS3 to read them on my TV.
I would like to view my albums and/or tags as folders on my PS3.
I understand Twonky may support Photoshop Album, but for the last two years this has been repalced with Photoshop Elements. Does Twonky support this?
If so, I ahve a few questions:
1- Do I need a copy of Photoshop album running on the same computer where Twonky is running, or pointer to my storage where the data base/tagged photos is stored is enough?
2- How does the navigation work with tags? Does it show any tag as a directory? What bout rankings?
3- Does it show the Phostohop albums as folders?
Does twonky also work with iPhoto on the mac? DOes it display the albums?
Thanks so much for the help, looking forward to joining Twonky!
Juju
Twonky and Phoshop Element (not Album)
Re: Twonky and Phoshop Element (not Album)
I am also hoping that Twonky will eventually support Elements. But for now, I downloaded Album and pointed it to my photos and let it create its database. When I tag my photos in Elements, I always write the tag and caption info to the photos themselves. So there's no need to import Elements' database into Album (which I don't think can be done anyway).
What photo info is available in Twonky? As far as I can tell, Twonky doesn't pick up tag info from Album, but does pick it up directly from the photos themselves. However, the "Tags" node is virtually unusable in Twonky as explained here: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4877. Twonky does pick up caption info from Album, though. If the photo has a caption, it will be displayed instead of the file name. I would much rather have workable and searchable tags though. Hope this helps.

Hello,
thanks for the reply, although does not sound too encouraging!
I wish Twonky would pick up the albums as well form Element. I have found that the "smart album" feature in Element is the best way to create meanigful collections. I would love to retreive thsoe smart albums on my TV/PS3, not necesarily the tags themsevles.
You can esily create an album form a tag, but also as combinations of tags (like "All pictures taken in the last three months that are more than 3 star rating and contain my children or my wife"), which is relaly powerful.
Anybody form the Twonky team has comments on this? Why would you support Photoshop Album while this product is not supported anymore for the last 2 years? Photoshop Element is just the same but better.
Thanks
