I am using twonky 4.4.5 with mp3 files . (works great ! )
Now I added a new linn ds player supporting flac files.
So I have to store the same songs in two file formats. (Still using MP3 Players)
How can i prevent twonky to show me the files twice ?
Can i install another twonky server on the same pc containing only flac files ?
(It is running with xp pro.)
Any better idea ?
Thanks
Peter
MP3 + FLAC Files
Re: MP3 + FLAC Files
I have a recommendation:
Under the share for music files, create three folders: FLAC, MP3, and OriginalMP3. Put the last folder in the list of folders Twonky should NOT use. Populate these folders.
As you replace MP3 files with FLAC, move the MP3 files to the OriginalMP3 folder. If you don't need the originals, delete them (if you have enabled the Recycle Bin, be sure to exclude this folder as well), and don't create the third folder.
This should work.

Re: MP3 + FLAC Files
You have a share setup named "Music". Under this share, you have three folders: "FLAC", "MP3", and "WAV". Keep these folders as they are.
Create another share, named "Original MP3". Use Windows XP to MOVE the .mp3 files that exist as .flac files from "MP3" to "Original MP3".
On your ReadyNas, Activate TwonkyVision. Go to the "miscellaneous" tab of TwonkyVision, and add ",Original MP3" (without the quotes) to the first box (I think it is labeled "exclude these folders from searching", and has something from Apple in it).
For example: if you have Music/FLAC/Song1.FLAC, and Music/MP3/Song1.MP3; move Song1.MP3 to Music/Original MP3/Song1.MP3.
After you re-scan the database, you will only have Song1.FLAC in it.
Hope this helps!
