Folder view in Music tree shows ID3 tags, not file names

Post by MartinN » Mon Jan 19, 2009 6:36 pm

Hi,

This is my first message here, so bear with me if I am a complete idiot. I have been reading around in the forums, but not found a solution.

I run a QNAP TS-409 Pro NAS with TwonkyMedia 4.4.9 in the firmware. I have 2 clients connecting to this, one Noxon Radio2 for iPod (brilliant device, by the way!) and a PocketPC with LobsterTunes.

It works, sort of, but I have a bad navigation problem. I have arranged all my music in folders, with meticulously arranged file names, but not much thought given to ID3 tags or playlists. It's arranged like this:

Artist Name / AlbumName / 01 SongName.mp3
Artist Name / AlbumName / 02 OtherSongName.mp3
...

Because of this, the Artist, Genre and Album views are pretty much useless. The only one really working for me is the folder view. This one correctly displays all folders and I can easily navigate. However, when I get down to the file level, it switches to show ID3 tags, instead of file names.

Since the behaviour is identical on the Noxon and the PocketPC, I assume that the problem is in how the Twonky server presents the data to the clients. Is there any configuration option to make it serve out file names instead of ID3 tags to the clients?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
Martin
