Using TwonkyMedia Server with a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo

Post by Papalazarou » Wed Jun 24, 2009 11:39 am

Hi all,

This is going to be a long winded one so here goes!

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS duo, and have been using a D-Link DSM-520 to stream my films from my NAS box to my TV, but after recently buying a PS3, I would like to be able to retire my D-Link unit and use the PS3 to stream my vids/music etc. At the moment when I try and watch films through the PS3 I get an error that the file is not supported (all of my films are in .avi format), and after going through the Playstation forums, it seems the fault may lie with the media server on board the NAS box not being supported by the PS3. One of the users on that forum says that TwonkyMedia works with the PS3, I believe my NAS box uses ReadyDLNA, and I wasn't sure if anyone on here uses the ReadyNAS Duo, and has tried to change the media server software on board to Twonky? Is this possible?

Jamie.
