Can't get FLAC to stream from 5.1 on Windows

What do I need to do to get 5.1 to stream FLAC to WMP 12? If I copy the flac files locally, then they play fine (I've got all the relevant codecs installed etc.). Also, if I disable Twonky and enable Asset on my server, they will stream fine. I also notice that the url that's generated shows .....

http://192.168.1.10:9000/disk/NON-DLNA/ ... 20Bow.flac? ..........

rather than

http://192.168.1.10:9000/disk/DLNA-PNWM ... 0Learn.wma? ........

Why does the server not understand the FLAC files - and mark then non-dnla. What do I need to install on the server to get them steaming.
