Media Server and Windows DFS replication

Post by RobW » Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:30 pm

Hi,

I store al pictures (JPG) and music files (MP3) on our home network, that consists of 2 Windows 2003 R2 servers. These two servers have DFS replication enabled, so that if one of them is down (for maintenance reasons or contingency), the files will not be lost.

I have the Twonkey Media Server installed on one of these servers to stream the music to our NP-2500 device.

First I had tried to ad network drives to Twonkey using the DFS share, but I noticed that Twonkey didn't search these network drives at all.

Alternatively I added the local directory to Twonkey where DFS places all the files, but now I have noticed that Twonkey locks all files preventing the DFS replication to correctly work.

Is there any way that I can configure Twonkey to use network drives, otherwise it will be pretty useless to me.
