I want to know may I just use 1 license to install 2 TwonkyMedia Servers in my home networking environment? These 2 server will be connected with ethernet or wlan.
Thanks.
May I use one license to install 2 TwonkyMedia Servers?
Re: May I use one license to install 2 TwonkyMedia Servers?
AFAIK this is not allowed by license regulations.
Furthermore it will plain not work once the two server are in the same network and "see" each other.

Here is the scoop:
Our licensing is tied to a Mac addresses. If you have a laptop, that consumes two Mac addresses whether wireless is enabled or not. A desktop or NAS consumes a single Mac address.
TMS 4.x works on up to 2 Mac addresses
TMS 5.x works on up to 3 Mac addresses
TMS 4.x works on up to 3 Mac addresses

Will binding a server to a single NIC free up a licence?

If I want to upgrade my machine to a new one with higher performance, and the old machine will not run in my home network again, may I continue to use the original license?

No problem. Our license system allows the last 3 Mac addresses to work. That way if you buy a new PC, or your hard disk crashes, you can use your existing license key on the new PC and it should still work. If it doesn't, just contact support http://www.twonkymedia.com/ContactUs.aspx and select Accouning Issues from the dropdown menu and we'll fix things for you.qjb wrote:If I want to upgrade my machine to a new one with higher performance, and the old machine will not run in my home network again, may I continue to use the original license?
