unable to connect to server localhost:9000

Post by Frank42 » Sat Dec 26, 2009 12:05 am

After install TMS config page is attempted to be displayed in the web browser (Safari or Firefox) but I get the error
Safari can't connect to the server Can't open page http://localhost:9000/config/config.html?confpage=18
I can then go to Applications>TwonkyMediaServer.app and start that program and the web address will work. But as soon as I enter my license key, it locks up and the application twonkymediaserver starts to consume about 100% of a CPU.

I had a similar problem. I could not register because I could not enter the config page.
On my macBook I did get the config page.
Later I considered that maybe it was due to difference in number of items in the the shared folders.
On the config page it shows the number of files for video, audio and pics.
This number on my iMac was huge. It was still calculating the number and maybe rebuilding the database.

Anyhow, I managed to get to the config page, by moving all my video, music and picture content temporarily to a different folder. Immediately Safari (and Firefox, and Camino) was able to show the config page and I was able to enter my serial key!

For the rest: I'm extremely satisfied with the program! It shows almost every file from my Mac on my Samsung LED TV.
