How to Disable Transcoding for AAC files ?

Post by photof » Fri Apr 09, 2010 12:34 am

Hi,

I use TMS 5.1.1 WHS and I'd like to stop autotranscoding for AAC files to stream to my philips NP2500 (it takes more than 20 sec to start playing).

It's transcoding because the server thinks the client does not understand AAC format. If this is the case, then you have no option really than either leave all your music in it's current format and let it transcode it on the fly (it should cache things, so next time it does not need to convert the same track), or convert your whole library to something your client DOES understand.

If your client device should play AAC, then perhaps the twonky client device database needs updating, or you client may be detected incorrectly.
