Twonky Server 6.0.1 NAS web access

Hi @all,

I have problems with accessing my twonky server via the flash media browser. My server is running on a Linkstation Pro Duo and already configured for accessing it over the internet (dyndns, remote port, ...).
But when I want to start the flash media browser with "http://<dyndns-adress>:<port>/resources/remote/remoteaccess.html" I only get a pop up with error:

Server Unavailable
Encountered problems contacting the server. The server may not be running or it may need to be restarted.

The remote acces via the normal HTML media browser works without any problem.

Does somebody know what I have to do for using the flash media browser from remote?

Thanks and regards,
brownie

I have the same problem with my Twonky Server 6.0.1 running on a HP Data Vault X510 with Windows Home Server OS. I configured a danymicDNS adress and everything except the flash interface works fine from remote. I Can access the configuration page or the html media browser, but the flash browser will not work.

If I use the url "http://dyndns:port/resources/remote/remoteaccess.html", I will get the same error message, as you do. But if I try starting the flash browser by clicking on the "Flash" link in the config page, the page does not load at all. I noticed, that the page tries to connect to the local IP of my server, which is of course not accessible through the internet.

When I try to start the flash interface in my home network with the "Flash" link in the config page (via my dynDNS address), everything works fine. It would be great to know, if this is a known issue and will maybe fixed in Twonky Server 6.1 or whether there are configuration mistakes. Thanks a lot!

I have contacted the Twonky team yesterday in this issue and they told me now, that accessing the flash site is actually only possible in your local network and not remotely via internet. So there is no bug, it is not supported.

I tried the 6.1 alpha version of TMS and the remote access via mytwonky.com worked quite well for me. I will use that way to access my content remotely until the direct access may be possible at any time.

Hi AdminPicard,

thanks for your feedback and the posting of the answer from Twonky support. In the meantime I have already found out that mytwonky.com is a nice solution to stream media via the internet. Unfortunately it is not yet implemented into the latest server version for my Linkstation, so I still have to wait for a while. But I'm confident that a new version with mytwonky.com support will be available soon. :-)
