can not view jpg from twonky media server
I have a QNAP 219P with Twonky Server 5.1.6 installed on it. my set up consists of this network attached drive, a TV with an Ethernet port and a number of PCs around the house. i have successfully copied over some photos on to a directory i have created and called "Qphotos". I can view the pictures from any pc in the house through NFS, also when I go to the media browser from any pc (from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9000 and go to media browser).
When I switch on the TV and navigate to where the pictures are, I can see all the pictures as thumbnail version, but when i click on one of them to view one in a bigger size, the TV displays as if the format is not recognized.
Notes:
1) i have tried loading the same pictures on a USB stick and plugging it in the TV directly, and the pictures were visible and worked properly. Therefore the TV is doing the necessary conversion well.
2) I have a dnla player on my iphone and the pictures are visible from there as well.
3) the TV successfully loads up any video format i throw at it.
Any help would be appriciated,
Thanks

What TV have you got and how is it identified on the Twonky config Media Receivers web page?
If you can access the Twonky setup on your Qnap can you see the options used for your TV in the resources/clients.db file? Please post them back if you can.

thank you for your reply. the clients.db file can be accessed here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MFMF0CUM
the TV is an LG 42inch full LED 8 series. it uses DLNA technology to connect to the twonky's server.

I didn't need your whole file - megaupload says it's unavailable anyway.
As I asked, "how is it identified on the Twonky config Media Receivers web page?" and then just post the section relating to that devices entry in the clients.db file.

Re: can not view jpg from twonky media server
I am not sure if I understood you well but when i go to the congif page, i found the mac address of the TV and it is listed near "Generic Media Receiver". Then i found this in the clients.db file and the below is listed:
NA:Generic Media Receiver
HH:DLNADOC/1.50
XM:DLNA15
TR:JPEG_TN,JPEG_SM,JPEG_MED,JPEG_LRG,MPEG
DB:AUTO
I hope this is what you were asking.

Re: can not view jpg from twonky media server
There is no specific entry for an LG TV - even in the clients.db file for the latest TMS6 versions.
All I can suggest is that you edit your clients.db file to remove the TR:JPEG... line as this is causing Twonky to try and transcode your JPEGs which won't work if you don't have transcoding set up.
You could replace the line with XM:NOTRPICS which tells Twonky not to transcode pictures.
Alternatively you could change Generic Media Receiver to Generic DLNA 1.0 from the drop-down list on the Receivers page.

Re: can not view jpg from twonky media server
I have tried selecting the Generic DLNA option but the pictures did not load up as they should. I also searched through the list and tried around 10 other formats, but I had the same result.
Maybe I have to look at other media servers if I wish to display a simple picture on the screen....? There has to be a a way!
something that i have noticed is that if i click on the button 'slide show' on my TV, the pictures DO come up, BUT in a very small size (like a thumbnail alone on a big screen).

Re: can not view jpg from twonky media server
Hello,
My problem is that the pictures from my NAS are very very small when displayed on my TV. The resolution is not respected. The same pictures are correctly displayed on my computer, and the pictures from my computers are correctly displayed on my TV.
Yesterday, I sent a message to the Twonky Support and I'm waiting for the answer.
I'd like to know if you contacted the Twonky Support, if your problem had been solved... and, above all, how it was solved.
Thank you for answering.

As i said, the pictures come much smaller when i put it on slide show mode. Do yours come up smaller even if you just click on them?
I haven't solved the issue yet and i didn't report it to twonky for some reason:)
When you get any response from them i would appreciate it if you post it here.
