Twonky on Dreambox streaming to Samsung TV

Post by bllaxx » Sat Oct 02, 2010 7:50 pm

Hi,

I have a Dreambox 800 and I installed the NAS package V6.023 for the 7025 on it (why is there no dedicated 800 package??). This seems to work, I can configure and start the server. The idea now is to stream from this Dreambox Twonky server to two Samsung TVs: PS50C7700 and LE40C679 (both new from 2010 with built in media player).

The TVs see the server, list all movie files (.ts files) and even start to play them - but after a few seconds/minutes the connection breaks and an error pops up.

Streaming to these TVs using the Mac Twonky server v6.023 works with no problems (except mkv, but that is another story...).

Any idea what I could do to get this working?

Hello bllaxx,

I had the same problem with my SAMSUNG `s.

Here ist the solution:

You must edit the twonkymedia-server.ini
# IP address to listen to
IP= <write your IP from your Dreambox here>

After that it works perfekt. Also with HD

I am waiting for the DM7025 6.0.28 Version. spooling should work with this version.

You can find a complet howto in the Dream forum written by me.
There are some other problems also solved.

Greetings
dixy

Thanks for the help. I solved the problem by going back to Gemini v4.7 instead of v5.x - this works perfectly. I had some other issues with the v5.x so this was not the only reason.

But, also waiting for the v6.028 of twonky, if spooling would work, that would be fantastic and makes it much more useful!
