I have recently acquired the following:
Asus o!play
WDTV Live
Western Digital Mybook World Edition (with twonky 5.1)
I have been playing various media file with the two players by just accessing them via my home network, and have recently started playing with twonky to see what, if any advantages I would have by having it serve the media files rather than have the players pull them from the NAS drive.
Is there any advantages to this?, if so, what are they?
I also noticed when I go to the twonky setup for choosing content locations, it only lets me chose folders under the "public" folder on my NAS drive, and I keep all my video media in its own folder, which is not part of the Public folder. Try as I might, when trying to add a new content directory, it will not navigate outside the public folder. When I click on the / at the top when browsing, it still will not let me navigate out of the Public folder.
Is this by design? Is there a way around this, as I do not want to move my movie files into the public/shared videos folder.
thanks

Hey there,
could somebody please reply to this topic? I have exactly the same problem and find it really annoying that only the public folder is shared.
Thanks

Well it is probably because of the way WD has configured Twonky on that device. You might get more help by going to the WD forums- http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Wor ... /mbw_worldcould somebody please reply to this topic?
