How to Clear Dead Playlists from Server

Post by wab66art » Mon May 23, 2011 3:00 pm

Edited: Would a total uninstall and reinstall, knocking out all files on the way and recreating my preferences and playlists do the job? No one seems to have any knowledge re: the server so far.

I use the Server exclusively to stream Internet music to a DSM-320. I have a bunch of old playlists on the server that won't go away! When I rescan my playlist folder on the hard drive sometimes the server picks up new .m3u lists, sometimes not, but it never gets rid of any. How do I manage that list on the server? When I look at the HTML listing or the Flash listing on the Twonky Browser they are all there, all the junk/dead ones that I'd like to flush. They show up on the DSM-320 menu and of course, the dead ones don't work.

Thanks for your help. I am reasonably proficient but certainly not a "techie" by any means so please try to keep it simple.

You might want to download the trial version of TwonkyManager if you're running a PC and try to delete them using that.

Also, make sure there are no playings in your shared music folder, or in iTunes. The server will continue to re-add those everytime it scans.
