I have a LG BD390 bluray media player. I use TwonkyServer 6.0.33 on QNap ts-210, connected to my network. I stream from my NAS box to the BD390 using standard networks cable.
When I stream avi, mkv, mpg files with external srt subtitles, the subtitles doesn't show, but if I view the exact same video file + srt files from a USB stick or CIF/Samba NAS connected to the BD390, the subtitles works perfectly.
So the video files + srt works, I can see that, just not from my TwonkyServer 6.0.33 on NAS.
Subtitles external srt doesn't work on LG BD390

The USB drive uses a different media player. This sounds to me like an issue with the DLNA/UPnP player in your TV.

Today I've tried WD Live. The subtitlte embedding in mkv file show correct, but srt external don't work. Same configuration Twonky server 6.0.33 on QNap ts-210 LAN cable.

It's possibile emulate CIF/Samba to visualize MKV + external SRT subtitle (same name of MKV)?

Re: Subtitles external srt doesn't work on LG BD390
Have you confirmed that your LG BD390 can play external subtitles via DLNA? I would be most surprised if it does as most other DLNA media players do not.
Just because the external subtitles play from local storage or CIFS file shares is not relevant. LG have 2 diffrent media players one for DLNA and one for local/CIFS and they each have different capabilities.
And no it is not possible to 'emulate CIF/Samba' in Twonky. The technologies are completely different.
Your only option would be to remux the files and embed the subtitles into the files and see if this will work. Doubt that it will though, various posts around the Internet say that the LG DLNA mediaplayer does not support subtitles.

Only for information, TVMobili (lasted version 2.0.0.3163 - Media Engine Version: 1.0.100 - Rules Engine Version: 1.0.52) works perfectly with external .srt, LG BD390 MKV + .srt external file. I see external subs with DNLA server... on QNap ts-210.
