I installed a test version coz I wanted to try the transcoding option - more and more non-PC players can't have loads of CoDecs installed so having a server which can transcode on the fly sounds sensible.
But I can't test it - the transcoding boxes are all greyed out. Is this a limitation of the un-registered version or am I missing a trick somewhere?

Re: Transcoding
You need to install ffmpeg and correctly configure the Twonky ffmpeg.location file to point to the directory where ffmpeg has been installed.
Search the forums and you will get plenty of hints.
PS- Don't even consider trying to transcode video on a NAS device or low/mid-end PC. They do not have the needed performance to do this.

Re: Transcoding
Thanks, I'll look into ffmpeg...
If it'll work, it can go on my quad-core beasty! I'm happy with the NAS boxes already doing what they do, esp as Twonky on the test PC seems happy to share out stuff stored ON the nas box, it'd be a pain to have to have on-pc storage for it too.
