I'm using TwonkyMedia Server 5.1.6 that is installed on my Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 Cloud Edition. When I open Windows Media Player 12 on my Windows 7 machine, the albums gets listed many times, showing the “Album Artist†the same as the “Contributing Artistsâ€, but it is not correct.
If I navigate to the music share in my NAS using Windows Explorer and manually select a music file, the "Album artist" and "Contributing artist" properties are correctly shown. But if I open it in Windows Media Player, the "Album artist" for the same song as before is mistakenly reported as the same as "Contributing Artist".
So with this, Media Player shows a different album for each song inside the same album, because he thinks it is a different album with a different album artist.
You can see this behaviour in the document that I've written, along with some screenshots:

I guess this is a problem of Twonky Media Server mistakenly reporting the “Contributing Artist†as the “Album Artistâ€. I’ve tried selecting “Windows Media Player†inside the “Media Receivers†configuration of the Twonky Media Server, with no luck. The “Album Artist†is always reported as the same as “Contributing Artistâ€.
Incorrect "Album Artist" in Windows Media Player.

Here is the response I received from him:
This seems to be issue of WMP , Please see the link below:
http://www.winvistatips.com/stop-album- ... 16386.html
Actually he should create the playlist using WMP without any NAS o0r external device then he can see album artist entries overwriting contributing entries , May this can help him and will wait for his comment J

Hello,
I have exactly the same issue in my iomega ix4-200d Cloud Edition fiirmware 3.1.14 (TwonkyServer 6.0.32).
Additionaly, I can say that If I use directly the NAS just as shared folder, WMP12 shows fine the “Contributing Artist†and the “Album Artistâ€. The "Album Artist" only is overwrite by DLNA.
It is a problem for Albums with various artist. I have all of them "Album Artist"=VA (fixed) and the "Contributing Artist"=the real track artist.
And comment, WMP12 does not show any folder by DLNA, just to show all tracks (!).
Thanks in advanced,
Citter.
