only blank screen on Bravia when trying to play video

I downloaded new version (6.0.37) for Linux. I had 6.0.34 before and had to update since it didn't show any files on list. Now new version shows files but when I want to play file It shows only blank/black screen.

I was thinking of buying Twonky since it was suggested at DLNA.org as certified, but I'm afraid that my Trial period will be over before I can get a successful video play ...

What type of files are you trying to play? I think that some Sony products hide all files which are not playable.

I can see the file in list(it's not hidden) but when I play it, it only shows blank screen. I also added GSpot image wtih file type information in my first post. The same file is playable with some other open source media server on my Sony tv, so I think that's not the issue.

Use mediainfo (download here http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en) to analyze one or more of your files that do not play and post the TEXT output here. Chances are that there is something in the way the files are encoded that prevents your TV from playing the files.

I cannot see anything obviously wrong with the Mediainfo details, except the audio stream is MP3 variable bitrate. Many hardware mediaplayers cannot play variable bitrate MP3 audio. Try re-encoding with constant bit-rate audio
