Hi all,
I have been using Twonky Server V6.0.34 on my Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra for a while now and had a problem since day 1 however it is now starting to bug me.
When I browse to my server on my PS3 downstairs the navigation menu for the Twonky server only shows the movies folder. However there should be other folders there like childrens and TV etc. The only way I have found to clear this issue is to reboot the Twonky server. The path on my NAS to the films etc it: media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos In here is where the Movies, Childrens TV folders are and they all have some content in them
Can someone tell me my this keeps happening and how to stop it.
Thanks
Folders keep disapearing

Re: Folders keep disapearing
my buest guess is this:
it is my understanding from prior use of the upload feature of twonky
that all videos uploaded via the upload feature
are placed into the videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded folder
and I "assume" that since it is twonky that is placing them there
that in some way be treating that folder even more specialy
that it would for other folders under the root of videos
Sure I would agree that it shouldnt matter, By Folder should be able to drill down
Are you placing media in that folder on your own
and or creating sub foders in there are you own?
Or is twonky actually doing that?

Re: Folders keep disapearing
I created the folder myself and I am copying the videos in myself. However after each time I copy a new video or creat a new fodler. I do a Content scan, rebuild the database and then reboot the server.

Re: Folders keep disapearing
So I take it, your not using the twonky upload feature
and using that folder as a share on the network
or are copying it up to some other share and then moving it there?
If yes to the above,
why put things in that folder, why not put them in the root of videos with or withour folders as needed?

Re: Folders keep disapearing
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been a littel busy of late.
O.K so I am just copying the files direct from my PC to the NAS box, not using the inbuilt upload feature. The reson for this is I have my own file structure in the root videos folder. It looks something like this:
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Movies\A - B
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Movies\C - D
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Moves\E - F
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Childrens\Cartoons
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Childrens\Animations
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Workouts\Insanity
media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos\Workouts\P90X
As you can see I have a few sub-folders in the Video Root, I have done this so when I finally finish converting all my DVD's it will be asey to locate the film etc I want to watch on my PS3 downstairs.
I only knew to put the videos in this location: media\twonkymedia\videos\TwonkyMedia\uploaded videos as when I install Twonky I uploaded a small clip using the built in upload feature and this is where it put the file.
However last night when I used the PS3 to check something out I had a quick look at the Media Server on the PS3 and it showed all the folders?? Usually it only picks up the movies folder and the sub-folders within that.
Any Ideas??

Re: Folders keep disapearing
My best guess as to why they are now showing up
Is that maybe one or more of them was taking a lot longer to be scanned
thus not updateding the db until scanning was completed
