Hi all,
Just thought I would report some interesting behaviour.
Today, I was going through creating playlists for all the music I have on my NAS.
I did so using Winamp.
I initially saved the playlist files as .m3u files. But I ran into a problem - despite all the songs being in the .m3u file TwonkyServer would only see a fraction of them. E.g I had a playlist with about 300 or so songs it (the songs themselves physically exist in separate folders). When opening the playlist file via Twonky Web Browse it only reported 85 songs in the playlist.
However - when opening the .m3u file with Winamp - it reported all 300 or so songs just fine and played them all fine.
So I did a test - I created the playlist files again as .pls files and ....everything worked just fine.
This points to a clear problem in the way in which TwonkyServer is reading .m3u files.
TwonkyServer 6.0 .pls files work/m3u don't (solution coming)

Thanks for reporting this. I'm passing this info on to our engineers.

Corsair,
One of our engineers said that it would be great if you could send over the playlist with 300 songs and point us to at least one song that was not imported. I assume he means the name of the song and not the media file itself. If you have the playlist around, please send it to me at tmm-beta@pv.com. After you send it, please let me know here.
Also, he'd like to know if the playlist is a m3u8 or just m3u. Let us know. Thanks.

I've sent the email through now with the .m3u file as well as screenshot showing what appears for me when viewing the playlist file.
It is just an m3u file and not an m3u8 file.

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0 .pls files work/m3u don't (solution com
Good news! Thanks to you sending us a playlist we were able to determine the cause of this problem and a fix is on the way.
The problem: There is currently a bug in our m3u scanner with double quotes.
A short-term workaround: Check your playlists for song titles that contain parenthesis like this one: Dino - Ooh Child (12" Mix Edit). If you either remove the double quote or replace it with a character like ', it should eliminate this problem which we're waiting for a software update.
The permanant solution: Download TwonkyServer 6.0.37 which will have a file scanner which ignores all special characters.
Thanks to Corsair for sending in the playlist and Reinhard for locating the cause of this problem.
