I am using Twonky Media server version 6.0.30 running on my QNAS TS 459 Pro NAS.
The music runs very nicely from the QNAP through my Denon AVR 3310CI.
But the album artwork displays on only 1 in 5 of the albums. This has become incredibly annoying.
I have tried endless tests to figure out what is happening:
1) Rebooted the NAS and Denon, together and separately
2) Rescanned the music database in Twonky Media, numerous times.
3) Rebuilt the music database in Twonky Media, numerous times.
4) Deleted and Reloaded some test albums without any luck, the same ones still failed or succeeded to display.
5) I tried some albums with Folder.jpg or folder.jpg; no luck
6) I copied some( some that worked and some that failed to display) of the folders from my NAS to a Vista 64 folder in my PC; then I viewed those through Windows Media Player using the Denon, Amazingly they ALL displayed the album artwork perfectly. Those same albums when viewed from Twonky Manager running in the Vista 64 all failed 100% to display any artwork.
7) In the albums that fail and succeed I can see no real difference in the details of the jpeg.
So could someone please explain to me what is the incredible secret to make the artwork display on ALL albums.
I am reasonably adept with computers and code software for a living but this has me baffled.
Thanks
Jim Calvert

Hi Jim,
I'm not sure what's causing this, but I have two suggestion you may want to try.
1. Do you have another media player that you can try like a Sony PS3 to see if this is a Denon-related issue or a server issue? I know that TwonkyServer is capable of serving album art without problems because we have over a million of customers doing so.
2. Have you tried embedding your album art into your MP3 files directly. You can do that with Winamp, Media Monkey, Tag & Rename and many other apps.

Re: Artwork fails to appear, but very randomly succeeds
Hi all,
Just wondering if there is an update to this problem as I am getting a similar situation.
I am running the Twonky Server 6.0.37 as a free trial on my vista laptop, though have a QNAP TS 119 II on order. I am streaming to a Naim ND5 XS.
My music is all ripped by dBpoweramp into WAV, using the LIST tagging standard.
I am 90% successful. Album artwork is displayed correctly during playback, however when browsing by Artist/Album the list of images are often mixed up. To explain, I select U2, and get the artwork for Massive Attack. But if I then play U2, the image is 100%. Sometimes 'U2' can be fine, other times it isn't.
Rebuilding the database often increases the number of errors.
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find a solution via the search. As soon as I get this resolved I will be posting a' how too' for the whole WAV/Twonky/Naim setup as this must be affecting others trying to stream WAV to Naim hifi.
My only thought is that its something to do with the adaptation which is done when selecting the media renderer??? I use bubble DS (is it?) as this allows full resolution artwork on my iPhone. If I use 'generic' artwork is low res and unclear. I'm not sure what effect this 'adaptation' has on things.
Thanks for any ideas or suggections. Most appreciated.
Bryan
