Hi, I have a panasonic Viera TV (U30M), and cant connect it to the server...
should i set the proxy on my TV? to which port?
BTW, i have a streamer in the network which runs UpNP server...

Can other devices connect to Twonky?

yes, TV is connected (correctly ) to LAN.
i am running Twonky on XP pro.
i Don't have other devices i can try on... only my TV...

Have you disabled any software firewall? It is probable that if you're running one that it is blocking access to Twonky.

on my PC? or router? what should i disable? firewall in general?

should i do anything on my TV?
can i use the media streaming from the internet browser? what should i do on the TV side?

Is that the XP firewall or the one built into your anti-virus product? You need to check both.

You shouldn't need to do anything else. If the network works, everything else should just work.

If you can't close your firewall, then you don't have to open any ports... or is that not quite what you meant?

Did you have another firewall installed? What is the IP address, netmask and default gateway shown by your TV? What is the IP address, netmask and default gateway shown by your XP computer (ipconfig/all will tell you that)?

If you have a corporate lock down on your PC then you need to go and talk to your IT guys.

At a minimum you need Port 9000 open (default for Twonky) and the firewall must allow multicast broadcasts. Neither are usual in a corporate environment.
