I use twonky on a linux server and access it from a Google TV box, and Moto Xoom, and a few samsung devices but I'm mostly interested in the android part of the equation. I use SickBeard to get show, season, and episode art as well as metadata. Using the MediaPlayer on my GTV box or BubblePnp on my Xoom with the profile set to boxee I get slightly higher resolution episode art, but I don't get any art in the Show folder and the only art that shows up for the season folder is the first episode's art.


e.g.

Archer (no art)

Archer->Season 01 (episode 1 art)

Archer->Season 01->Episode1 (art)
Archer->Season 01->Episode2 (art)
etc.

In the folders I have folder,backdrop,cover, and fanart .jpg files. Am I missing anything or is this not a feature?

Do you see the thumbnails on the servers media browser web page? If not, it might be because the video thumbnails have to be named exactly the same as the video file.

I get the icons for the actual videos. I don't Season or Show specific icons on the folders.

Videos ->Archer->Season 01->Episode1.mkv (file - shows it's Episode1.jpg)
Videos ->Archer->Season 01->Episode2.mkv (file - shows it's Episode2.jpg)
Videos ->Archer->Season 02 (directory - not showing folder.jpg located in the directory)
Videos ->Archer->Season 02->Episode1.mkv (file - shows it's Episode1.jpg)
Videos ->Archer->Season 02->Episode2.mkv (file - shows it's Episode2.jpg)

I just want to know if this is the intended behavoir or a feature that you haven't implmented (and hopefully plan too). Maybe I'm thinking of this too much like a directory tree on my hard disk and not a database, but if the show name is the "artist" and the season folder is the "album" is there a way to associate specific images to them?

I cant remember where, but I thought that one had to use a case sensative name for "Folder.jpg"
as opposed to "folder.jpg"
But I am not positive about that
I do know that, the ability to change a folder icon
is very very client specific
For ex: it is not possible in any way to do it on the ps3 or xbox
as they inject there own iicon for folder based on the media in that folder

Ok. I'll try that later today. I am running on ubuntu and I'll say I'm pretty sure it's all lowercase.

Nope. I guess twonkyserver doesn't give dlna clients art for folders which only have folders in them.
