Hi, I have an LG55LW550T Television and when an xvid file has either a .sub or .srt matching file they dont play on my TV.
I thought that subs were supported in the server from 6.038 ?

I think it's only supported with some Samsung TVs.

Sorry to disagree but manual says and i quote.
"Supported external subtitle format: *.smi, *.srt,
*.sub (MicroDVD, SubViewer 1.0/2.0), *.ass,
*.ssa, *.txt (TMPlayer), *.psb (PowerDivX)"
And they also work with nero as per this from the manual.
"This TV only supports movie subtitle files
supplied by Nero MediaHome 4.
The subtitle file name and movie file name
have to be the same and located in the same
folder."
Do they work at all with Twonky? I got MediaHome4 with the TV but bought Twonky as it was recommended as a good server.

I don't see anything about Twonky in the excerpts from your manual. I don't doubt that your TV supports subtitles from USB media. Subtitles via a UPnP server like Twonky are a very different thing.

Re: How to ? Subtitle streaming
They are. They may have access to the proprietary methods that LG is using. We do not.
I'll pass this on as a feature request for the future. Thanks for sharing this info.
