Pics showing only Thumbnail view with WDTV Live SMP

Post by captHedge » Tue Dec 27, 2011 11:27 am

Hi All,

I have a WDTV Live SMP and have been testing various Media Server solutions.
My setup is a Windows SBS Server running TwonkyServer, gigabit ethernet wired lan to the WDTV etc.

So trying out Twonky at the moment and have a question on displaying photos.

In WDTV, when I select a photo it displays very pixelated almost as if it is showing the thumbnail view.

Does anyone know how to configure TwonkyServer to force the full image at all - I cannot find a setting.

At the moment this is the only reason stopping me from buying it - it is by far the easiest to setup and use..

Any pointers or help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Here is a generic response but it might help you.

Sometimes TwonkyServer doesn't correctly identify devices and loads a generic device profile. In some cases this can result in thumbnails being displayed -- instead of the full-sized photos.

Ways to fix this:
1. Go to the server settings pages and click on the Media Receivers link. Locate your device in the list and try changing it to another profile. If there is a profile in the list from the same company as your device, try that. If not, try other device profiles. Some have reported that changing this to Xbox solved their thumbnails problems.
2. Locate the clients.db file and try changing the "TR:"-line to "TR:JPEG1920x1080,JPEG138x103,MP3,WAV,WMV"
(put the higher HD resolution in front of the lower resolution). Some who did this say they are now seeing full screen pictures.

Let me know if either of these work for you.
