Sound problem with mpeg-4 videos

Post by robinpattinson » Wed Jan 04, 2012 6:52 pm

Hi.... I have some mpeg-4 videos on my QNAP NAS - they start to play OK on my Sony blu-ray (conneted via wireless to the NAS) - however, after a few seconds the sound goes. I have tried playing these from my PC and they are fine. If I fast-forward the video a bit then the sound returns but then goes again.

Also, I have tried playing these as mpeg-2 - these play OK (with sound) but I cannot use fast-forward or back with this format. Ideally, I would like the sound + the ability to fast-forward back.

I am fairly new to this aspect so please forgive me if I am asking rather basic questions here!

Thanks

Robin

All of the problems you are describing sound to me like they are player-related.
