Im playing MKV files with x264, 5.1 sounds, I hear all sound effects but no dialogue. How do i fix this?
When playing simple tv shows, i hear everything.

You have to look at the configuration and connections of your mediaplayer to figure that out. Twonkyserver just sends a bit-stream of the media file that it has been requested to serve. It has no control over how your mediaplayer plays the file.

I got hdmi and the media player claims to do 5.1, dolby and dts. Has anyone had anything similar to this with movies not playing vocals?

Yes there are many possibilities but none are related to Twonky server.
- Your media player is not configured correctly to decode 5.1
- A bug in your media player's firmware which prevents it from correctly decoding 5.1
- The A/V equipment your media player is connected to cannot decode 5.1 correctly
- The media files are not encoded correctly

And on and on...

What is the make and model of your media player?
