Debian Squeeze start on boot

Post by jmvangoethem » Mon Apr 09, 2012 10:21 am

Hi,

After installing Twonkyserver 7 on my Debian squeeze server, I have trouble to get twonky starting on boot:

I followed this tuto:

ln -s /etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh /etc/rc2.d/S99mediaserver
ln -s /etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh /etc/rc6.d/K99mediaserver
ln -s /etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh /etc/rc0.d/K99mediaserver

The "update-rc.d twonkyserver defaults" replied:

update-rc.d: using dependency based boot sequencing
insserv: Script twonkyserver is broken: incomplete LSB comment.
insserv: missing `Required-Stop:' entry: please add even if empty.
insserv: Script twonkyserver is broken: incomplete LSB comment.
insserv: missing `Required-Stop:' entry: please add even if empty.
insserv: script twonkyserver: service twonkymedia already provided!
insserv: exiting now!
update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header

and it does'nt works. I always have to ssh the server and start Twonky manually

Could you let me know what's wrong here ?

In advance, thank you

Jean-Marie

Add "# Required-Stop" in /etc/init.d/twonkymedia.sh

It should look like:

Code: Select all

### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: twonkymedia
# Required-Start: $network $remote_fs
# Required-Stop:
# Default-Start: 3 5 2 4
# Default-Stop: 0 1 6
# Description: TwonkyVision UPnP server
### END INIT INFO
