1.
If your media is in mp4 format, embedded coverart works

2.
If your media is not mp4 format, a file called nameofitem.jpg will work
when placed in the same folder as the nameofitem.mpg or vob, etc.

3.
if you have ffmpeg installed, it is possible to configure twonky, to generate thumbnails
based off of video frame from the media

I've made a script for Twonky to automatically retrieve artwork for movies and tv series. See http://server.vijge.net/tw-video-scraper/ There is a special section on how to set this up under Windows. If you have any questions about using the script, post a comment on that site, and I'll try helping you.

Many Thanks for this script - I am also using Twonky on a Mac and can't locate the cgi-bin directory. I have a windows PC too, so i will have a go on there.

I also use Plex media server and it's brilliant for getting all the Meta data etc and I wish Twonky would do the same! :( As Twonky is recommended by Panasonic TV's
